As we all know, global warming is the lead cause for concern in the world. In fact, it’s even creating terrorism. What we should do now, is give the U.N. the ultimate authority to do whatever is necessary to fix this, and while they’re at it redistribute the wealth that America has earned through the evil economic system of capitalism.
As a matter of fact, all of this cold weather, caused by man-made global warming/cooling/climate change/pick-your-buzz-word, has given me a headache. Al Gore, the world’s leading scientist and inventor of the Internet, to the rescue!
How stupid of me to not have been able to put this together before. Cold weather is caused by man-made global warming. Duh!

So? There were also record warm temperatures earlier this month across most of eastern North America. Short term trends are not always indicative of long term trends.
As far as the why we aren’t currently in a glaciation period it was due to natural warming processes This is influenced by a number of factors, ranging from the wobble in Earth’s orbit/axis to the greenhouse effect. The concern with current global warming is based on the fact that CO2 levels have spiked over the past hundred years or so, and are currently at a point higher by around 30% than any point in the past million years.
I realize that last comment was just a snarky throw-away line, but if by any chance you are interested in reading up about climate change and such, I’d recommend it, whether or not it changes your opinion.

I never said global climate change does not exist. It does, and it is part of the natural phenomena we refer to as nature.
We have not proven that the rise in CO2 is what causes change in climate. This is only theory. Also, this shift in levels does not mean that man is causing it, necessarily. Just because it exists does not mean that we are the culprit, nor does it mean that any action that Al Gore, the world’s leading scientist and inventor of the Internet, takes can do anything about it.
Since we have consistently been wrong in every other study on this topic, what makes you so sure that this time we are correct?
And yes, I have read a LOT about global warming/cooling/climate change/ pick your buzz word. The trend in rhetoric changes about every decade, which leads me further to believe that nobody really knows what the hell they’re talking about.

The ice ages melted as a natural occurrence of climate change, as you point out. Why are you so convinced that this is not what is happening right now? You cite no actual proof, you just repeat what a bunch of other people said, which by the way, is only a hypothesis. And I also hope that you understand that truth does not rely upon the number of people who believe and/or agree with it. It relies ONLY upon FACT, something which the THEORY of man made global warming lacks.
My last comment is not a throw away line. It is something which points out the MAJOR contradiction to the argument that climate change is caused by man.
Did you know that we are having the coldest winter in years across North America? So only when we have a hot summer, it is caused by man made global warming, but when the winter is much colder than normal, is a natural occurrence, right?
Because as we all know, every single year the citrus harvests are ruined in California and Florida.
In conclusion, you have proven nothing. You have merely repeated a hypothesis. You have not answered why the ice ages melted naturally, but somehow man is causing the earth’s climate to shift.
